2006 BORDEAUX VINTAGE RELEASED

2009-09-28

VANCOUVER - BC Liquor Stores will be releasing the 2006 Bordeaux vintage wines on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009.

Bordeaux is a region in southwest France that is world-famous for producing prestigious wines of exceptional quality.

“We have been able to source wines from some of the most consistent and highly-rated Chateaux for the 2006 release,” said Barbara Philip MW, Portfolio Manager for Wines of Europe at the BC Liquor Distribution Branch. “Because the vintage is somewhat in the shadow of the highly-publicized 2005s, many of the wines are substantially lower-priced than last year and offer great value.”

BC Liquor Stores has published a 2006 Bordeaux Collection booklet listing all of the wines available in this release, along with ratings from various magazines, detailed tasting notes and information about specific bottle limits. This booklet is available in all Signature BC Liquor Stores and online at www.bcliquorstores.com.

Our location at 39th & Cambie will carry the full collection of Bordeaux with Park Royal, Fort Street (Victoria), Orchard Park (Kelowna) and Thurlow & Alberni having enhanced selections. Customers are encouraged to ask the Product Consultants in these locations to help with purchasing decisions.

2006 Bordeaux wines will be available starting Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 25 BC Liquor Stores, including 21 Signature stores and the following locations: Dunbar (Vancouver), Caulfeild (West Vancouver), Peninsula Village (Surrey) and Brighouse (Richmond). Selection and quantities may vary at each store. For a complete list of participating BC Liquor Stores and hours of operation, please visit www.bcliquorstores.com. Limited quantities per customer will apply on some wines and buyers are advised to shop early to avoid disappointment.
