BC Liquor Distribution Branch named one of BC’s Top Employers
BURNABY –The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) has been recognized as one of the top employers in B.C.
It marks the 12th straight year that the LDB, the sole wholesale distributor and public retailer of liquor and non-medical cannabis for the province, has been named to the list. Canada’s Top 100 Employers project identifies employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work. It evaluates and compiles the data, publishing the list of top employers annually.
“Last year more than 55,000 people applied to work with us, which is a testament to the work environments we’ve created,” said Blain Lawson, General Manager and CEO. “We pride ourselves on being socially responsible and cultivating a culturally diverse work force. I’m very proud that our forward-thinking initiatives have made us one of BC’s Top Employers for over a decade.”
The LDB employs 4,800 people in communities across British Columbia, operating three distribution centres that supply wholesale customers and retail stores, an e-commerce platform for the sale of cannabis and more than 200 retail stores operating under the BC Liquor Stores and BC Cannabis Stores brands. It contributes over $1 billion annually to the Province of B.C., providing funding for services like health care and education.
