VANCOUVER —An extensive array of extremely old and rare scotches and fine whiskies from around the globe are just part of this year's Premium Spirit Release this Saturday, Nov. 7, at 30 BC Liquor Stores throughout the province.
The Premium Spirit Release — widely considered the biggest event of the year for spirit
aficionados and collectors — includes highly sought-after bourbons from Kentucky, and whiskies from Ireland, Wales and Canada. It also features some remarkable and traditionally hard-to-find Japanese whiskies and an exquisite cognac from Camus.
While the release will appeal to a broad range of spirit enthusiasts with many high-quality
products in the $50-to-$100 range, this year's showstopper is a bottle of unique Glenfiddich 50-year-old single malt with a price tag of $36,000. This ultra-rare Highland Scotch has been called the "crowning glory" in the Glenfiddich collection and is encapsulated in a hand-blown bottle and individually numbered in wax.
Complimentary product tastings will accompany the Spirit Release at the following BC Liquor
Store locations from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7:
