BURNABY – For the 15th consecutive year, the B.C. Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) has been recognized as one of B.C.’s top employers. This designation, awarded by the Canada’s Top 100 Employers competition since 2005, acknowledges organizations throughout the province that offer employees exceptional workplaces and forward-thinking staff policies. The list is published in the Vancouver Sun annually.
“I’m incredibly proud that the LDB continues to be ranked among the best places to work in the province,” said Blain Lawson, General Manager and CEO of the LDB. “It’s a testament to our people and their resilience over the past couple of years. In turn, our organization has prioritized listening to their concerns and supporting their health and wellness. As a public sector organization, we greatly appreciate our employees’ dedication to serving our customers and the people of B.C.”
As a branch of the Ministry of Finance, the LDB employs nearly 5,600 people across B.C. at three distribution centres, 198 BCLIQUOR stores, 36 BC Cannabis Stores, and its head office. Through its operations, the LDB contributes over $1 billion annually to the province of B.C., providing financial support for vital public services.
The Canada’s Top 100 Employers competition evaluates employers on several criteria and scores in: physical workplace; work atmosphere and social; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.
