BURNABY – The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) has been named one of BC’s Top Employers for 2024, making this the 16th consecutive year the organization has received the designation. Awarded by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers, BC’s Top Employers acknowledges B.C.-based organizations who lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.
“I’m honoured that the LDB continues to be recognized as one of the best places to work in the province,” said Blain Lawson, General Manager and CEO of the LDB. “It’s a reflection of our people, their positive attitude, and their commitment to serving British Columbians no matter the challenge. Our organization will continue to prioritize employee feedback and do whatever we can to ensure a safe and rewarding workplace.”
In making their annual selection, editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers evaluate organizations based on progressive and forward-thinking policies. This includes assessments on the physical workplace; work and social atmosphere; health, financial, and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.
As a branch of the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General, the LDB employs nearly 5,600 people across B.C. at three distribution centres, 198 BCLIQUOR stores, 39 BC Cannabis Stores, and its head office. Through its operations, the LDB contributes over $1 billion annually to the province of B.C., providing financial support for vital public services.
