Recalled Sapphire Bombay Gin not stocked by LDB warehouses

2017-05-03

VANCOUVER – The Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) has confirmed its warehouses do not stock the 1.14-litre bottles of Bombay Sapphire London Dry Gin being recalled by the manufacturer.

According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, the recall was initiated today after the discovery that, during production, one batch was bottled before correct dilution to achieve the stated 40 per cent alcohol content by volume. As a result, the affected batch has alcohol content by volume of 77 per cent.

The supplier has indicated this product lot (L16304 W) was not sent to B.C.

Out of an abundance of caution, all BC Liquor Stores have been sent a communication advising them to confirm this specific product lot is not in their stores.

The LDB’s Wholesale Operations department has also posted a notice on its website informing B.C. liquor retailers of this matter.
